Our annual event on May 12th, EAT TO DEFEAT ALS, a nationwide campaign to unite the restaurant community in the fight against ALS by asking restaurants of any size and type and in any location, to donate 10% of their daily sales on one day to support our ALS research and care, is changed this year - but for GOOD reason! We are thinking of our friends in the restaurant community who have been tremendously impacted by the COVID-19 world health crisis and are doing our part to help them, because they have always been there to help us.

It was great to see the community come out and support a new business.THIS YEAR, EAT TO DEFEAT ALS IS CHANGED FOR “GOOD”. It’d be great to see this lowered to $ 10-$ 15 range, but that’s a minor quibble.

They also now take credit card, though with a $ 20 minimum. We’re looking forward to returning to try out the menu. The bartenders were all very friendly and knowledgeable, and drink prices were very reasonable. We just came in for a few drinks and greatly enjoyed our selves. I’m assuming you will eventually be able to drink/dine out there. Behind the bar (outside) is a deck that overlooks the new pond and fountain that they installed. They also have some nice HD tv’s showing sports (like the current World Cup). Inside the bar, the lighting fixtures, tables and chairs are all new. The owners have done extensive remodeling on the front and back exterior as well as the interior of the building and it makes a huge difference. Outside they had a bartender selling drinks and food (corned beef sandwiches, dogs/brats) all were very reasonably priced. The Shillelagh had a big top tent setup for the occasion with live music. My wife and I came to the Shillelagh last night for their grand opening party and had a wonderful time.
